~Summer Solstice Celebration~

Last night, we went to our local Summer Solstice Celebration down at the American River. It actually runs through the weekend with several different bands playing, but we had to take it easy this year because of money and because of our youngest, who is quite energetic and roam-happy. He is a lot of work for 3 to 4 days at this age. Next year, we might like to go camping on site throughout the entire celebration. Excellent vibes and tons of like-minded individuals. Plus, there were quite a few people I already know that inevitably congregate at this wonderful festival. This particular one is in its youth as the 4th annual celebration. I want to pay a visit every year from now on.

The boys down at the river; Daddy showing them how to skip rocks....
....A rock in mid-skip. It was on its 3rd skip (you can tell if you look closely).....

....Just the lovely American River....

....Day moon, just above the stage....

.....Day Stage...I do so love the fiddle and the bass.....

....Jared was having so much fun climbing into and jumping from raft to raft with the other kids. There were 3 stacked next to 2 stacked. I even tried them out because he wanted me to join his fun...It was fun....

...Dylan enjoying the pulling of the wagon with Dad...ah, the simple things....

....Jared hanging out and swinging in the most popular hammock with our friend's daughter. What a gorgeous dress she had on, might I add....

....Mesmerized by the music as it becomes more lively at night....

....The hard to see bright moon through the silhouetted oak tree above the stage. Great positioning..I wonder if that was planned......

.....Johnny Mojo (the one with a top hat) playing with Dead Ahead....extremely groovin' blues! You can always find me dancing when I go see Johnny, although it was hard to make it in front because it is much too loud for the boys...and for me at times....

....Darn blurry picture. I guess that is what I get when I stay far away from the stage.....

...Sleepy boy....

....We left around 11 pm, so you can imagine how tired they were. So much stimulation and movement....

...We should certainly camp out next year.....

To check out the celebration on the web, go here. Again, it runs all weekend and there are many talented musicians and cool activities for the entire family. It is mellow, yet charged with such positive energy. Uhh, I wish we could return today. It will be much more extensive. Until next year, I suppose. The main thing is that the kids had a blast seeing and hearing the music come to life, dancing spontaneously, climbing, roaming, playing in the sand box and with sea shells, seeing and playing with trippy lights during the dark hours, meeting new friends, seeing old ones, enjoying the river and the flowers, and just being amidst good vibes.

  3. Yes Chris, it was very fun. I love music and dancing and mellow people and nature...

Hello Karen. I thank you for your encouraging comments. I thought it was pretty cool that Jared decided to mock his Mommy and hang a line with playsilks draped over like linens. It was a fantastic moment.
