A Couple of Days On Hikes and At The River

We spend a lot of our time taking hikes and visiting a plethora of water sources in our region, including creeks, ponds, lakes, waterfalls, and rivers. We just spent the last 4 days on day trips to such places. One such place is only open during a small portion of the year, and for some reason it is still gated. People hike down there to the picnic area along the river if they are spunky enough to do so...we are. So, we just about had the entire place to ourselves with the small occasion of other visitors. The other nice thing is that there is a guarentee that there is no traffic coming around each bend. This way, our boys can wander ahead of us with ease and without the paranoia that a car could hit them while making our way through the long windy road. It has been a lovely few days, but I really do need to get back to finishing up homeschool with Jared for this year. Kindergarten is coming to an end pretty soon. I am sure we will take more day trips like this, as long as we keep caught up at home. Plus, I need to ensure he is ready for his upcoming piano recital. Anyway, here are a few Spring samplers from our local visits. Enjoy.

So, get oudoors, smell the air, hear the birds and the wind, feel the warm sun upon your face, squish sand between your toes... experience spring with its beauty and rapid changes all around you. Every moment passes quickly, so pay attention and become a part of it. Have a fantastic week!!!

  1. Love these Jayme. I couldn't agree more with you closing. I do so love this time of year. I love my early morning walks when the birds, squirrels, and bumblebees are beginning their day. It's all so fleeting. Gotta savor every moment! Love you. Hope to see you guys soon.
